Boys Soccer Defeated in Semifinals

The Mt. Greylock boys varsity soccer team played against Belchertown in the Western Mass Semifinal game November 8th. Belchertown scored early on before the Mounties tied things up by scoring a goal quickly. Belchertown played a strong offense against Mt. Greylock during the first half of the game, but Mt. Greylock managed to kept the score even for the first half of the game.

At the beginning of the second half, Belchertown scored a goal that bounced off the goal post. The Mounties started to play more offensively but Belchertown got another goal in over Mt. Greylock goalie’s head. The teams played evenly for the rest of the second half and Belchertown didn’t score any more points for the rest of the game. The Mounties scored again with 8 minutes left and had another attempt right after, but this was blocked by Belchertown’s defense. The Mounties lost the game and are no longer competing in the Western Mass tournament.
