April Wellness Fair
On Tuesday, April 7th, from 12:53pm to 2:25pm, Mount Greylock juniors and seniors attended a Wellness Fair held in the West Wing of the school as well as in the Gymnasium. Students were offered a variety of educational subjects pertaining to health and nutritional awareness. Booths within the west wing included derma scan screening that was able to show dead skin cells and damaged skin through color patterns within the scanned image. Sports nutrition information was offered along side of food intolerances and allergies, tobacco information was also presented in the shared area. Berkshire Health Systems offered students with a unique opportunity to observe surgical robotics and to learn about CPR with a realistic dummy. Within the gymnasium, gym coach Brian Gill offered CPR instruction to students. Concussion awareness, sports injury rehabilitation, and substance abuse booth conquered the center of the gym while many students flocked towards the yoga and meditation area. Unfortunately students lost the ability to learn about massage therapy and acupuncture as well as first aid practice due to the instructors having to cancel at the last minute. The event ran smoothly and was a relaxed way to wrap up a Tuesday afternoon for juniors and seniors at Mount Greylock.
