On Thursday March 31, the Student Council implemented a microwave in Mt. Greylock’s cafeteria. Junior Simon Kent presented the idea to the Student Council after bringing a chicken pie to school and realizing his need for a microwave. In the past, students would ask the cafeteria workers to heat up their lunches using their microwave. Assistant Principal Jacob Schutz donated a spare microwave while freshman Karen McComish donated a food cover. If a demand for the microwave grows, the Student Council will consider investing in more microwaves. Kent was happy with the quick result, “It definitely shows how the Student Council can help students have input on their school.” Senior Council Member Ian Culnane agrees with Kent, “By Simon coming to school council, it really set the wheels in motion to get a microwave.”
