Wrestling Season Preview
In this upcoming season of Mt. Greylock wrestling, athletes are preparing and getting excited about upcoming matches. Last year, the team graduated four valuable athletes that will definitely be missed this season: Devin Pelletier, Dillon Whitley, Robert Sutter, and Jaden King. Pelletier set the bar high for all wrestlers in the state by setting the Massachusetts record of 231 career wins.
For this first month or two of the season, practices will be held in the room next to the weight room, where the temporary gym is being located for the first semester of the 2017-2018 school year. This small room may make practices tight, but the team will make it work.
Unfortunately, two seniors, Owen Brandriss and Jude Rorke, will be out for a while due to injuries. The two hope for “a speedy recovery so they can be back and make their last wrestling season, the best.” As for the rest of the team, they are all preparing by setting personal goals for this season. With their first meet being December 15th, the team continues to practice and put in hard work in order to do their best.
