Hockey Team Makes Playoffs
The Wahconah hockey team is in the middle of a strong season this year. Having finished the regular season they hold a 14-4-1 record, with a 6-0 mark in conference. Composed of players from Wahconah, Mt. Greylock, McCann, Drury, and Hoosac Valley, the co-op team is ranked 7th in Western Mass. Captains Logan Rumbolt (Drury), Andrew Beaudoin (Wahconah), and Nate Lapine (Hoosac) lead the team on the ice. Although it was “going to be a building season,” said Mt. Greylock sophomore and goalkeeper Cole Seaman, “We definitely have a playoff run. We definitely have a chance.” With their tenth win, they have a spot in the Western Massachusetts playoffs for the third year in the row. Seaman, along with senior Jack Milne, junior Kyle Bazonski, and sophomore Hoby MacWhinnie represent Mt. Greylock. A recent graduate of Mt. Greylock, Dan Flynn, is in his first year as an assistant coach, working under Dan Disbrow. The team is waiting for the final seeds to be released before they make their run in the playoffs.
