Boys Basketball Looks to Make Postseason
The Mt. Greylock boys basketball team began its season without key senior Sean McCormack and the use of their home gym, but has still managed an 8-6 record through hard work thanks to teammates including sophomore Cole Wojtkowski, senior Sam Dils, sophomore Toby Foehl, senior Brady Foehl, and senior Alex Backiel, stepping up. Now, with McCormack back, Coach Bob Thistle hopes to seize two more wins and enter the Western Mass tournament. Last year the team made the finals, and hope to take home an overall win in 2018. Recent games at Pittsfield and Sabis bode well for the season, as the boys faced talented teams and pulled through. “I think those were a big turning point,” said Thistle, “Every challenge the team faces is an opportunity.” Now the boys have broken in their new gym they are excited to begin practicing at Mt. Greylock.
