Season Preview: Girls’ Basketball to Begin Competition This Week
As basketball season begins, the girls’ team is ready to play. The team is kicking off the season with a jamboree held at Mt. Greylock this Tuesday at 7:15. Despite losing a key senior, Lauren Howard, the team is excited for the season ahead; as captain Brooke Masse commented, “we’ll be just as good because we have a lot of younger players.” Seniors Maddie Albert and Autumn Dolorey will also lead the team as captains. Although the starter list for this year is still up in the air, Maddie Albert, Maddie Ross, Autumn Dolorey, Delaney Babcock, and Brooke Masse are certainly ones to watch. While last year they did not make it to the Western Massachusetts tournament, this year that spot is one of the team’s goals. Some upcoming notable games include those against Wahconah and Drury on December 27 and 6 respectively, both of which will be extremely competitive. Luckily for fans, both games will also be played at home.
I am a Senior here at Mount Greylock, and I have been a member of the Echo for five years. Along with being a journalist, I love playing soccer, reading Jane Austen and trashy murder mysteries, and seeing how fast I can complete the New York Times mini crossword puzzle.
