After winning the Western Massachusetts Division III championship in 2013, the Mounties couldn’t quite pull off the repeat in 2014, losing to Monument Mountain 2-3. Nevertheless, head coach Stephen Bryant and his squad had a very successful season finishing undefeated in the regular season and 13-1 overall. The Mounties return nearly all their keys players. Seniors Nyein Soe (Masslive.com “Super 7” selection) and Will Nolan are the Mounties one-two punch as single players, while the doubles partnership of senior Jake Foehl and junior Gray Kaegi look to continue their dominance in 2015. Certainly, the loss of doubles partners Matt and Aaron Kleiner will affect the team, however, thankfully for the Mounties, the twins will return next year as juniors eager to get back on the court.

The Mounties are primed for another shot at a Western Massachusetts championship. Their schedule includes challenging Pioneer Valley opponent East Longmeadow and tough Berkshire county opponent Monument Mountain.

For seniors like Nolan, Soe, and Foehl, this spring will mark their last high school season. For the Mounties, adding another Western Massachusetts championship to the list of six previous championships would put Mt. Greylock back on the map in the state.
